Abstract:
The smart RFID rubbish bin has some electronic components to enable identification of the items being thrown into the rubbish bin. These components include an RFID tag reader that performs the main function of the smart RFID rubbish bin, namely to identify specific items in the rubbish bin, provided that the item has an RFID tag. Once the data has been acquired by the RFID reader, the data are sent to an external device and/or service (smartphone, computer, smart watch) over a wireless communication interface (such as a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth network).
