Abstract:
The invention relates to a traffic-calming device that is completely different from those that are currently found on the streets, having a novel make-up with a horizontal plate, sliding supports, an electronic circuit and electromechanical actuators, which has the main feature of allowing the free passage - with no ramp, bump or obstacle - of vehicles travelling at a speed that is no higher than the maximum speed limit for the street in question, to which the system can be adjusted, contributing to achieve uniform traffic speeds, reduce vehicle emissions, accidents, wear and stress for good drivers, compared with those generated by conventional speed bumps or existing traffic-calming devices. On the other hand, the system is capable of deforming when being crossed by vehicles that exceed the speed limit, forming a gentle temporary ramp, in which the resulting annoyance or discomfort motivates drivers to observe the speed limit when crossing the next Smart Traffic-Calming Device with Temporary Ramp, thus aiming to create new awareness among drivers of the importance of observing the posted speed limit by using the reward and punishment system, preventing accidents and the risks of driving faster than the speed limit.
