Abstract:
Disclosed is a smart window that has a construction in which an organic/metallic hybrid polymer and an electrolyte are held between two sheets of ITO glass. The construction facilitates an increase in area and, in addition, after the smart window is made transparent by applying drive voltage, time is required for the smart window to revert to a coloured state due to the memory effect even when application of the drive voltage is discontinued, and therefore the construction has excellent power saving properties. Consequently, a smart window system without a power source can be constructed by means of combination with a solar battery.
