Abstract:
[Problem] To obtain a smelting raw material pellet and a smelting raw material using the same whereby heating efficiency can be increased by intensively radiating microwaves to the smelting raw material pellets or smelting raw material in a metal smelting technique in which microwaves are used as a heating source. [Solution] A pellet as a raw material for smelting using microwaves as a heating source, the pellet having a configuration in which an electroconductive substance is included in a base material obtained by uniformly mixing and pelletizing a metal oxide and a reducing agent, and an electroconductive portion and a dielectric portion are provided in the pellet, whereby the pellet is configured having a microwave resonating structure.
