Title:
SNAP CONNECTING INNER MODULES FOR AN ELECTRIC UTILITY METER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002037125
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
Improved electric utility meter with an integrated structure (50) uses a minimum number of parts without requiring the use of screws, clips or other additional parts that make meter disassembly a tedious procedure. Meter casing includes a baseplate (64), at least two inner covers (52, 54) for housing and protecting electronic components of electric utility meter, an outer cover (62), and pluralities of projections extending from the covers for interconnection of casing components and stabilization of the integrated casing structure. The various electronic components of the meter includes electronic circuit boards (56) and current transformers (60). Casing module is secured and stabilized by interconnecting the outer cover (62) with other inner covers (52, 54), thus safeguarding against possible snap deflection. The additional use of cantilever springs and containment ribs (66) helps to ensure that the inner casing components will not move within the overall casing structure.
