Description:

[DESCRIPTION]

[invention Title]

A SOAP COMPOSITION FOR ATOPIC DERMATITIS CONTAINING FERMENTED EXTRACT OF XANTHIUM STRUMARIUM L. AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

[Technical Field]

The present invention relates to soap and a preparation method thereof, and more particularly to soap composition containing fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. having an excellent effect for atopic dermatitis by adding fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. upon preparing soap and a preparation method thereof. [Background Art]

Atopic dermatitis is a kind of dermopathy characterized by erythema, edema, pruritis, exudation, and crusting. An acute phase forms a vesicle within an epidermis and a chronic phase causes scaling and a thickening of a skin. It is well known that genetic factor is associated with atopic dermatitis. More than 50% patient families have a family history of atopic dermatitis, asthma, allergic rhinitis. According to a clinical observation, foods such as egg, milk, flour, etc. are an important allergy antigen (allergen) for a young child and dust within a room, pollen, fungus, dandruff of animals with hair, etc. are main factors for a large child. Immunotherapy and pharmacotherapy have been performed on the

atopic dermatitis up to now. However, there is no special therapeutic agent. When the symptom is serious, steroid agent (adrenocortical hormone agent) has been used, but it has an effect of mitigating clinical manifestation within a short time. Therefore, the symptom is relapsed within a few days. If a topical application of the steroid agent is continued for a long time, hypoadrenalism is caused so that a side effect is shown due to several adrenocortical hormone agents. Therefore, a continued use of the steroid agent is inadequate. Since there is no proper therapeutics for the atopic dermatitis patients, they rely on the improvement of habitude, folk remedies, and oriental treatment in many cases. Therefore, a need exists for a development of a product capable of mitigating the symptom of a patient having gradually increasing atopic dermatitis due to the change in the environment and the industrialization, etc.

Small epispastics soap, which uses vegetable base, is prepared by mixing fat and palm oil, etc. in a proper quantity and heating and dissolving it and then adding sodium hydroxide thereto and deriving saponification. The soap is prepared by separating and removing and vacuum-drying by-products at a lower layer. Anti-oxidizing agent, humectant, perfume, etc. may be added to the prepared soap.

Meanwhile, KR. Registration Patent No. 634816 disclosed oriental facial cleanser including oriental drugs ground in a

fine size, sodium bicarbonate, muscovado, ferment fermenting them, wine, honey, and thickener as stabilization material. In addition, several components, such as jade, wood vinegar, charcoal, etc. has been already used for preparing other functional soaps, but do not have a high effect on the atopic dermatitis. Therefore, there is ever increasing a need for soap composition having an excellent effect for the atopic dermatitis. [Disclosure] [Technical Problem]

The inventors preserved in their efforts to find more excellent raw materials to overcome problems of soap for atopic dermatitis in the related art. The results of their efforts, the inventors was appreciated that when preparing soap by adding ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L. prepared by mixing an grinding non-dried sprout of xanthium strumarium L. or non-dried mature xanthium strumarium L. with sugar to be fermented, the soap has excellent skin moisturizing effect and remarkably mitigates the atopic dermatitis symptom.

Therefore, an object of the present invention provides soap composition having efficient skin moisturizing effect and remarkably mitigating atopic dermatitis and a preparation method thereof. [Technical Solution]

To achieve the object, the present invention relates to soap composition comprising fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. and a preparation method thereof, and more specifically, to soap composition comprising ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L., which is contained in vegetable soap base, and a preparation method thereof.

The soap composition according to the present invention has a more excellent moisturizing effect when using rapeseed oil as the vegetable soap base and a more excellent effect for atopic dermatitis when adding pine charcoal powders having excellent antimicrobial action together with the ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L.

Preferably, the ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L. is prepared by putting sugar in the sprout, leaf, stem, and root of xanthium strumarium L. or a mixture thereof and fermenting it at normal temperature and grinding it with a mixer or a grinder. However, the ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L. prepared by further including a step of ripening the leaf, stem, root of xanthium strumarium L. or a mixture thereof at 60 to 70 ° C for 10 to 30 hours shows a more excellent effect of mitigating the atopic dermatitis symptom.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail . Unless technical terms and scientific terms used herein

are otherwise defined, they have meanings understood by those skilled in the art.

Also, the repeated descriptions of the same technical configuration and action as the related art will be omitted. The present invention provides the soap composition prepared by mixing the soap base of vegetable oil component with the ferment extract of xanthium strumarium L. and the preparation method thereof. The soap composition according to the present invention has an excellent skin moisturizing capacity and remarkably mitigates the atopic dermatitis when being applied to patients having the atopic dermatitis.

The typical soap (beauty soap, toilet soap, etc.), which is alkali metal soap, is prepared by mixing and neutralizing fatty acid obtained from the vegetable oil, such as coconut oil, lactate oil, soybean oil, castor oil, olive oil, palm kernel oil, etc. and animal fat, such as tallow, lard , suet, fish oil, etc. with sodium or potassium alone or a mixture of sodium or potassium and alkali metal salt. The animal and vegetable oil and the alkali metal salt are generally referred to as the soap base.

The soap base according to the present invention further removes a stimulus to a skin and is prepared by mixing and neutralizing the vegetable oil with the alkali metal to prevent xeroderma and itch. As the vegetable oil for preparing the soap base, olive oil, castor oil, grape seed oil, rapeseed

oil, etc. are preferably used. More preferably, the rapeseed oil is used to further increase skin moisturizing effect and further suppress itch.

Xanthium strumarium. L (scientific name) is an annual herb belonging to compositae. The height of the xanthium strumarium. L is about Im and has a leaf and a hair. The leaf is alternate, petiole is long and the length is 5 to 10cm. A flower opens in August to September and is yellow. The flower is hung on an end a branch and an end of an original stem in a cone shape and is divided into a female flower and a male flower. A capitulum of the male flower is round and is hung on the end thereof and a capitulum of the female flower is hung on a bottom thereof and has two projections. A involucre has a hook-like projection, is an oval, and has about lcm in length. Two achenes are in the involcure. A fruit ripens in September and the achene is well attached to an object due to the hook- like projection on the surface of the achene. Also, a young sprout (xanthium strumarium . L) is eatable and the fruit has been used for alleviation of pain and treatment of wound inflicted by a blade, detoxification of insect, hydrops, drainage, hemorrhoid, quinsy, stroke, rabies, eczema, sweat, syphilis, arthritis, detoxification, diuresis, afterpain, toothache, tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis, headache. It is mainly prepared into a sterilization plaster and an antiseptic plaster to treat eczema, lichen, scrofula, abscess, acne,

smallpox, and ulcerative dermatitis.

The fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. according to the present invention, which is fermented extract obtained by fermenting the sprout, leaf, stem, root of the non-dried xanthium strumarium L. or a mixture thereof, is preferably prepared to contain the finely ground xanthium strumarium L. component by mixing sugar with the sprout, leaf, stem, root of the xanthium strumarium L. or a mixture thereof and then grinding it with a mixer or a grinder. Preferably, 50 to 150 parts by weight of sugar is used for 100 parts by weight of the sprout, leaf, stem, and root or the mixture thereof. If sugar is used less than 50 parts by weight, the fermentation cannot be made well and if sugar is used too much beyond 150 parts by weight, the effect of the ferment extract is not increased any more and is therefore poor in economical efficiency and the sugar component is not dissolved so that it is difficult to prepare the ferment extract with a uniform liquid phase. Preferably, the grinding is performed after the fermentation since the grinding after the fermentation can obtain more uniformly and finely grinded xanthium strumarium L. than the grinding before the fermentation. As the sugar, all of the non-refined sugar or refined sugar, such as white sugar, brown sugar, unrefined sugar (muscovad) can be used. Also, the xanthium strumarium L. can use both the sprout and mature xanthium strumarium L., but in the case of using the sprout

the moisturizing effect and the effect of mitigating the atopic dermatitis symptom are more excellent.

Also, when the preparation method of the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. contained in the soap composition according to the present invention includes a pre- treatment step that ripens the sprout, leaf, stem, root of xanthium strumarium L. or a mixture thereof at 60 to 70 ° C for 10 to 30 hours followed by mixing them with sugar, the fermentation is better made at a subsequent step and therefore, the activation of the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. is more improved, thereby making the effect of mitigating the atopic dermatitis symptom more excellent. At the pre- treatment step, the component of xanthium strumarium L. ripens while containing proper moisture in the temperature range and the time range, so that the effect of the fermented extract prepared in a subsequent sugar fermenting process is further increased.

Preferably, the content of the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. contained in the soap composition according to the present invention is preferably 1 to 10 parts by weight for 100 parts by weight of vegetable oil, more preferably 3 to 5 parts by weight. If the content of the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. is less than 1 part by weight, the improvement effect of atopic dermatitis is insignificant and if the content thereof exceeds 10 parts by

weight, the increase of the improvement effect of atopic dermatitis is insignificant and also the content thereof is too much, it is not easy to prepare the soap formulation.

The soap composition can further comprise a pine charcoal powder. When containing the pine charcoal powder, the atopic dermatitis is more mitigated and the antimicrobial action is more improved by the synergism of the pine charcoal powder and the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. as compared to a case of using only the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L.

Generally, the charcoal is known as having absorption ability of harmful substances. The charcoal powder in the present invention is used to remove harmful chemicals existing in a skin. In particular, the reason for using the pine charcoal powder is that it can be very easily prepared in finer particles than an oak charcoal powder and when both the pine charcoal powder and the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. are added, it shows an excellent effect of mitigating the atopic dermatitis symptom. The content of the pine charcoal powder added to the soap composition according to the present invention is preferably 0.05 to 5 parts by weight for 100 parts by weight of vegetable oil, more preferably 0.1 to 1 parts by weight. If the content thereof is less than 0.05 parts by weight, the effect of using the pine charcoal power and the fermented extract of xanthium

strumarium L. together is not revealed well and if the content thereof exceeds 5 parts by weight, the increase of the effect is insignificant, the economical efficiency is poor as well as the color of the soap is dark to spoil the appearance. The soap composition containing the fermented extract of the present invention can be prepared by a method of first preparing the soap base of vegetable oil component and then mixing it with the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. and can be prepared by a method of adding the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. to sodium hydroxide aqueous solution and then mixing it with the vegetable oil upon preparing the soap base. A more preferable method is a method of adding the vegetable oil and the pine charcoal powder to the mixture of the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution and the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. and then putting and curing it in the molding frame. When first preparing the soap base and then mixing it with the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L., there may be a problem in that the mixing of the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. with the soap is easily not made or the curing is not made completely. [Best Mode]

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the following embodiments. However, the following embodiments are described only by way of example and

the claims of the present invention are not limited thereto.

[Preparation Example 1] Preparation of fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L.

Mature xanthium strumarium L., was extracted and was then washed about five times with flowing water. Thereafter, its moisture was removed by a net. Subsequently, the leaf, stem, and root of the mature xanthium strumarium L. are finely cut to have a size of 1 cm or less and 100 parts by weight of unrefined sugar for 100 parts by weight of the xanthium strumarium L. was added and mixed to and with the xanthium strumarium L. The mixture was fermented for 20 days at normal temperature. It was put in a mixer and ground by a mixer so that the liquid-phase fermented extract of xanthium strumarium

L. wherein the leap, stem, and root of xanthium strumarium L. were uniformly and finely ground was prepared.

[Preparation Example 2] Preparation of fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L.

The fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. was prepared by the same method as the preparation example 1; however, a process ripening the finely cut xanthium strumarium L. in a pyrostat maintained at 65 ° C for ten hours was additionally performed before mixing the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. with sugar.

[Preparation Example 3] Preparation of fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L.

The fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L was prepared by the same method as the preparation example 1 excepting a sprout with about 5 leaves instead of the mature xanthium strumarium L. [Comparative Preparation Example] Preparation of xanthium strumarium L. power

The roots and all of mature xanthium strumarium L. are extracted and were then washed about five times with the flowing water. Thereafter, its moisture was removed by a net. Subsequently, it was dried at normal temperature until the post-drying mass becomes 10 % of the pre-drying mass. The dried xanthium strumarium L. was finely cut and ground to prepare the xanthium strumarium L. powder.

[Embodiments 1 to 4] Preparation of soap for atopic dermatitis

The content of components added to preparation of soap based on 100 parts by weight of rapeseed oil was indicated in Table 1. When the preparation method of the soap uses the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L., the method first mixes refined water and sodium hydroxide to prepare sodium hydroxide solution and then adds and mixes the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. to the sodium hydroxide solution to prepare a mixing liquid. After adding remaining components to the mixing liquid and well mixing them, it was put in a molding frame and was then maintained and cured at

30 ° C for 24 hours.

[Comparative Examples 1 and 2]

The soap was prepared by the same method as the embodiment 1 by adding only the xanthium strumarium L. powders or the pine charcoal powders without using the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. In the comparative example not using the fermented extract of xanthium strumarium L. indicated in the following Table 1, after adding the rapeseed oil and the remaining components to the sodium hydroxide solution and well mixing them, it was cured by the same method as the embodiment.
