The present invention belongs to the technical field of chemical pharmaceutical engineering. Provided are a sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate product and a preparation method therefor. The sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate product has a degree of crystallinity of greater than 90%, and has obvious characteristic diffraction peaks at 2θ angles of at least 6.80, 13.69, 21.77, 25.25, 25.67, 25.82, 30.17, 31.21, 31.47, 34.84, 36.72, 41.85, 42.15, 44.55, 45.08, 48.46 and 48.59 in an X-Ray pattern of a crystalline form. The preparation method involves: A. dissolving ethyl 3-hydroxybutyrate in a mixed solvent of an organic solvent and water; with the stirring temperature being controlled at 5-25°C and the stirring rate being controlled at 300-500 rpm, adding 1.05 equivalents of a sodium hydroxide solid in portions; and after the addition is completed, continuing to react same at 5-25°C for 1-5 hours; B. heating the reaction system to 50-80°C, and after the sodium hydroxide solid is completely dissolved, slowly reducing the temperature, wherein during the process of same, the stirring rate is controlled at 50-500 rpm, and the temperature reduction rate is controlled at 0.5-2.0°C/minute; and C. after the temperature of the reaction system is reduced to 0-25°C, continuing to stir same for 20-50 minutes, and filtrating, washing, and blowing-drying or vacuum-drying same to obtain the sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate product.
