Abstract:
A safe, large-capacity, and high-efficiency sodium-sulfur secondary cell system manufactured at a low cost. The system is provided therein with (a) a measuring means which measures the internal temperature, voltage, current, etc., of a battery pack which are required to determine control parameters, (b) a storage device for recording measured data, (c) an arithmetic device which calculates the control parameters based on the measured or recorded data, and (d) a control mechanism which controls the system by using the calculated control parameters. It is effective to incorporate (e) an inference mechanism in the system for predicting numerical values required to calculate the control parameter from limited measured data, because the measurement of all necessary information is very expensive, when the system is of a very large scale.
