Abstract:
The present invention provides a technology that achieves high levels of both magnetic properties and machinability, which could not be achieved only with conventional machinability-improving technology that utilizes MnS, etc. This soft magnetic iron has a component composition comprising, in mass %, less than 0.02% of C, less than 0.05% of Si, 0.01% or more and 0.50% or less of Mn, 0.002% or more and 0.020% or less of P, 0.001% or more and 0.050% or less of S, more than 0.010% and 0.050% or less of Al, 0.0010% or more and 0.0100% or less of N, and 0.0003% or more and 0.0065% or less of B, with the remainder comprising iron and unavoidable impurities.
