Abstract:
When upgrading software installed on a PC (1) for an analysis device, said PC (1) not being connected to the Internet (4), a user performs a prescribed operation via the PC (1) to obtain a license activation cancellation key. When the user accesses a server (5) from a user terminal (2) via a prescribed account, and inputs the license cancellation key, a license cancellation unit (52) cancels the activation of a license for a previous version. In addition, when the user inputs a product serial number or the like for a software upgrade 3, an upgrade verification unit (53) verifies the license ownership and activation cancellation status of the previous version, and an activation key issuing unit (54) issues an upgrade license activation key. A device user activates the upgraded software installed on the PC (1) for an analysis device using the activation key. In this way, license activation can easily be performed when upgrading software on a PC that is offline.
