Abstract:
This software update device includes: a communication unit connected to software-executing electronic equipment; and a wakeup-signal-receiving unit. When a wakeup request is received from a preregistered wireless access point, the wakeup-signal-receiving unit causes the communication unit to transition from a sleep state to a wakeup state. When the transition is made to the wakeup state, the communication unit begins wireless communication with an external device, and uses update software received from the external device to update the software on the electronic equipment.
