Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a software upgrading method and device used for a terminal device comprising a first memory, the terminal device being currently in a system software upgrading process. The method comprises: if the terminal device is powered off, determining the integrity of a first secondary program loader (SPL) stored in the first memory; if the first SPL is incomplete, entering a boot loader download mode after the terminal device is powered on; and in a first stage of the boot loader download mode, the terminal device executes the following steps: deleting the first SPL; and downloading a second SPL in a target external storage medium into the first memory, the second SPL being a file finally downloaded into the first memory in the first stage. By using the embodiment of the present application, the terminal device can be powered on again to finish software upgrading after being powered off in the system software upgrading process.
