Abstract:

Provided is a solar cell from which an output is easily derived even if the solar cell is cut into an arbitrary shape. A solar cell 1 according to the present invention is a back contact solar cell which is provided with: a semiconductor substrate 11; a first conductivity-type semiconductor layer 25 and a second conductivity-type semiconductor layer 35, which are arranged on the back surface of the semiconductor substrate 11; and first electrode layers 27 which correspond to the first conductivity-type semiconductor layer 25, and a second electrode layer 37 which corresponds to the second conductivity-type semiconductor layer 35. The second electrode layer 37 and the plurality of first electrode layers 27 form a sea-island structure wherein the first electrode layers 27 are in the form of islands, while the second electrode layer 37 is in the form of sea. This solar cell 1 is also provided with a plate electrode 40 which is arranged so as to face the back surface of the semiconductor substrate 11, and which is connected to the plurality of first electrode layers 27, while being not connected to the second electrode layer 37.
