The present invention provides the following: a solar-cell substrate consisting of a semiconductor substrate that has an n-type diffusion layer and an n+-type diffusion layer with a higher concentration of n-type impurities than the n-type diffusion layer, the surface of said n+-type diffusion layer having a concavity; a method for manufacturing a solar-cell substrate; a solar-cell element; and a solar cell.
