Abstract:
A cell comprising a transparent conductive film, a semiconductor provided on the transparent conductive film, a conductive film disposed facing the semiconductor, and an electrolyte filled between the semiconductor and the conductive film, metal ions such as silver ions being dissolved in the electrolyte. When light beams into the cell, metal ions are subjected to oxidation/reduction reaction in the electrolyte to effect charging. When an open-circuit voltage is lowered by a reduction in light quantity or shielded light, discharging is effected to enable the cell to function as a secondary battery.
