Title:
SOLAR-POWERED ATTIC VENT WITH A ONE-PIECE, FITTED SKELETON
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/108708
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
By mimicking the appearance of roofing material, a solar-powered ventilation system for an attic or rafter spacer is made having little effect on the appearance of a building in which the ventilation system is installed. The ventilation system has a vent comprising two pieces, a primary vent (40) and a secondary vent (12). The secondary vent (12) is constructed to look like surrounding roof tiles (45) and is installed over the primary vent (40). The secondary vent (12) includes an overlying solar panel. One or more openings in the secondary vent (12) and an opening (46) in the primary vent (40) conduct air between an attic or rafter space and the outside. A solar-powered fan can be provided underneath the second vent (12) to increase airflow.
