Title:
SOLAR SAFETY HELMET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/008347
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Safety functions of automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet According to an in-depth investigation of helmets currently worn by motorists on the road from 2006 to 2008, more than 65 per cent failed to meet the approval of the Land Transport Authority. The developer also conducted a survey on motorcyclists, motorists and the public. Most of those interviewed agreed that motorcyclists should wear automatic solar powered fluorescent helmets, which are safer to motorists. Given that a motorcycle will be hit by vehicles following close behind if it loses control or brakes suddenly, motorists felt that motorcyclists must wear double protection to safeguard their lives. Young motorcyclist interviewed said that they would lose their freedom if the government makes it compulsory for motorcyclists to wear solar powered fluorescent helmets in future. The investigation report by the developer concluded that as many as 95 per cent of those surveyed approved and supported the use of the automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet The helmet sends an important message to all motorcyclists worldwide, that is, it makes the best of both worlds by offering motorists and the public double protection as their lives are equally important. Motorcyclists worldwide are not the only one benefiting from the automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet. Wearing the helmet also concerns people from various quarters and the country as a whole. The developer hopes to work with the relevant government agencies and insurance companies to advise all motorists to wear automatic solar powered fluorescent helmets on the road within a certain time frame. The developer reiterates that to keep thee roads free of congestion and prevent motorcyclists from causing serious accidents, the government must stipulates that should traffic accidents happen When motorists are not wearing automatic solar powered fluorescent helmets, Insurance companies shall not be liable for any compensation.

Description:
SOLAR SAFETY HELMET

Safety functions of automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet

The automatic solar powered fluorescent motorcycle helmet can make traveling on the road safer for motorcyclists and reduce the number of traffic accidents. It also safeguards the lives of motorcyclists and keeps crimes under control.

With motorcyclists wearing automatic solar powered fluorescent helmets in gloomy weather or at night both motorists and pedestrians will be able to see the motorcyclists in front of them clearly within 80 meters.

The automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet is visible to motorists under any circumstances and from all directions.

If the motorcycle breaks down on the road at night, the automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet can be placed on the back seat or the rear box for vehicles to see the breakdown clearly from afar, so traffic accidents can be avoided.

Accidents generally happen when motorists knock into motorcyclists because they are unable to see them in time as both the headlights and tail lights of the motorcycles are dim or spoilt. This often leads to the casualty of motorcyclists. The automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet is effective in keeping motorists alert to avoid knocking motorcyclists down.

Motorcyclists who lose control of their bikes under the influence of alcohol are the major cause of accidents. They endanger the safety of public road users and pedestrians. The automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet can send a clear signal to the public and keep them alert to effectively prevent accidents from happening.

In Singapore, whether it is at night or in the early morning, many motorcyclists put their lives at risk when they zip through expressways at high speeds. Serious casualties are repeated as a result. Over the years, the developer finds that most of these motorcycles are registered in Malaysia or owned by permanent residents. Some of the motorcyclists are also Singaporeans. The headlights and tail lights of many such motorcycles are spoilt, endangering the safety of road users. Many traffic accidents are caused by road bullies who blatantly disregard the law and authorities of Singapore. If the Land Transport Authority stipulates that all motorcyclists must wear automatic solar powered fluorescent helmets on the road, it will be difficult for errant motorcyclists to escape the law and the authorities will be able to arrest those who violate the law promptly. The developer also observes some illegal conduct of motorcyclists:

It is common to see a group of young motorcyclists engaging in illegal racing or speeding with the headlights and tail lights off late at night. The brightness of the automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet can serve as a deterrent and traffic accidents can be avoided.

Crooks often ride motorcycles to search for their targets in the middle of the night. They will turn off all the lights of their motorcycles so that the public will not be able to see their number plates when they commit crimes. If a crook escapes on his motorcycle when his crime is discovered, the sight of his automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet will enable the public or law enforcement officers to nail him down.

The automatic solar powered fluorescent helmet is developed to safeguard the lives of motorcyclists worldwide. It also protects the interest and safety of the public, and is closely linked to the economy.

Solar powered fluorescent motorcycle helmet developed to safeguard lives of motorcyclists

Many accidents involving motorcycle casualties happen on the road around the world every day. A global survey showed that 80 to 90 per cent of motorcycle accidents happen between 7 pm to 7 am. Most of such accidents can be avoided but they still happen because of reasons such as motorcyclists are negligent, roads are not well maintained, motorcycle headlights are out of order and motorists fail to keep a proper lookout. After several years of careful investigation, the developer found that the crux of the problem lay in the motorcycle itself. The developer observed that many motorcycles traveled at night with both of their headlights and tail lights out at night. This causes motorists to knock down motorcycles coming from the front or opposite direction because they are unable to see clearly. Motorcyclists pay a heavy price for it and family tragedies are repeated. After several years of investigation, the developer notes that the headlights and tail lights of a motorcycle are insufficient to safeguard the life of a motorcyclist. To allow motorcyclists to travel in the rain and at night more safely, the developer has come up with a latest technology to ensure the safety of motorcyclists traveling at night. The automatic solar powered fluorescent motorcycle helmet can keep traffic accidents to a minimum.
