Abstract:
Disclosed is a sole structure which can reduce energy loss while running. A sole structure (1) for a shoe is provided with: an upper plate (3) which is disposed in the upper part of the sole structure (1) and which stretches from the front to the back of the sole; a lower mid-sole (4) which is made from a soft elastic member, is disposed below the upper plate (3), is fixed to the lower surface of the upper plate (3), and has a groove (41) which opens downwards and which stretches in the width direction of the sole; and bend restriction sections (10) which are provided in a bent state in the length direction of the sole between edge sections of the opening of the groove (41), and which connect the edge sections of the opening. When the sole starts bending, the bend restriction sections (10) allow the sole to bend from when the bend restriction sections (10) are in a bent state up until the bend restriction sections (10) are gradually stretched into a straight line between the edge sections of the opening, and when the sole has been bent, the bend restriction sections (10) restrict the bending of the sole by receiving force in the extension direction when the straight line is stretched between the edge sections of the opening.
