Abstract:

An in−tank solenoid fuel pump, comprising a cylinder (6) forming a pressurizing chamber (5), a plunger (7) slidably installed in the cylinder, an inner yoke (8) installed on the outer periphery of the cylinder, and a bobbin (12) installed around the inner yoke and having a solenoid coil (11) for energizing the plunger wound thereon, characterized in that a fuel circulating passage (22) is formed in the outer surface of the cylinder along the longitudinal direction, and both end parts of the fuel circulating passage are opened into a fuel tank (1) near both end parts of the cylinder in the longitudinal direction, whereby, even if heat is generated in the solenoid coil itself and when the plunger is slid to produce vapor in fuel, the vapor can be prevented from entering the pressurizing chamber.
