Abstract:

A medicine which contains a sialic acid derivative represented by formula (I) and is excellent in solubility and absorbability. It is a solid dispersion comprising a water-soluble polymer such as hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and dispersed therein a sialic acid derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein R?1¿ represents a residue of a steroid compound; R?2¿ represents hydrogen or C¿1-4? alkyl; R?3¿ represents C¿1-15? alkyl, etc.; and X represents oxygen or sulfur) {e.g., 3$g(a)-[N-(5-acetamido-3,5-dideoxy-2-O-methyl-$g(a)-D-glycero-D-galacto-2-nonulopyranosonyl)amino]cholestane}.
