Abstract:
The present invention provides a solid electrolyte which exhibits high electrical conductivity even in a low temperature range. A solid electrolyte which contains a hexagonal perovskite-related compound that is represented by general formula (1); an electrolyte layer which uses this solid electrolyte; and a battery. (1): Ba7-αNb(4-x-y)Mo(1+x)MyO(20+z)
(In formula (1), M represents a positive ion of at least one element; α represents the amount of Ba deficiency, which is a number of from 0 to 0.5 (inclusive); x represents a number of from -1.1 to 1.1 (inclusive); y represents a number of from 0 to 1.1 (inclusive); and z represents the variable ratio of oxygen, which is a number of from -2.0 to 2.0 (inclusive). Incidentally, x and y in formula (1) satisfy |x| + y ≥ 0.01.)
