Abstract:
The present invention includes a capacitor element having an anode foil that has a porous section in a surface thereof, a dielectric layer that covers at least a portion of the porous section, and a solid electrolyte layer that covers at least a portion of the dielectric layer. The anode foil has a first main surface and a second main surface on the opposite side from the first main surface, and includes a first portion on which the solid electrolyte layer is not formed, said first portion including a first end section, and a second portion other than the first portion, said second portion including a second end section on the opposite side from the first end section. Between the first end section and the second end section, the capacitor element has a first insulation region on the first main surface side and has a second insulation region on the second main surface side. A solid electrolytic capacitor that reduces leakage current is provided by using a solid electrolytic capacitor wherein the water repellency R2 in at least a portion of the second insulation region is greater than the water repellency R1 in the first insulation region.
