Abstract:
Provided are a solid electrolytic capacitor having a high volume-to-capacity ratio, and a method for manufacturing the same. A solid electrolytic capacitor (10) includes a laminated body (20) and an anode terminal (22). The laminated body is constituted by a plurality of capacitors (18), each of which comprises a valve-action metallic substrate (12) having two principal surfaces opposite each other, a dielectric oxide film (14) which is formed to cover the surface of the valve-action metallic substrate (12), and a cathode layer (16) which is formed to cover the surface of the dielectric oxide film (14). The plurality of capacitors (18) are laminated such that the principal surfaces thereof face each other. The laminated body (20) has two principal surfaces and a plurality of side surfaces, and the valve-action metallic substrate (12) is exposed to at least one side surface from among a plurality of side surfaces. The anode terminal (22) is electrically connected to the side surface to which the valve-action metallic substrate (12) of the laminated body (20) is exposed. The cathode layer (16) is insulated from the anode terminal (22) via an insulating substance in the cathode layer (16).
