Abstract:
The proposed solid-fuel heat engine and a variant thereof comprises a power source (1), a device for regulating the ignition of the solid fuel (2), a housing (4) which accommodates a solid fuel combustion chamber (5), check (6) and controllable (7) exhaust valves, and a cylinder (8) with a piston (9) and connecting rod (10) kinematically connected to a crankshaft (11) on which is mounted a flywheel (3). The housing (4) also accommodates a synchronization unit (12) which can come into contact with, for example, the piston (9) at top dead centre, and a gas chamber (13) between the piston (9) and the solid fuel combustion chamber (5) formed by a multiple charge cartridge (14) made up of single-charge cartridges (15); the latter are provided with electrical initiators (16) controlled and actuated by the same unit (2) which controls the ignition of the solid fuel. The outlet from each single-charge cartridge (15) has a check valve (6) and is connected to the gas chamber (13) in which the controllable exhaust valve (7) is mounted.
