Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a detection-region setting unit (34) for setting a detection region for the right side and the left side to the rear of a vehicle; and a solid-object detection unit (33, 37) for detecting a solid object existing in a right-side detection region (A1) or a left-side detection region (A2) to the rear of a vehicle, on the basis of image information about the rear side of the vehicle from a camera (10). The detection-region setting unit (34) sets a first detection region (A11, A21) when the solid-object detection unit (33, 37) calculates the distance a solid object moves, and sets a second detection region (A12, A22) of smaller area than the first detection region (A11, A21) when the solid-body detection unit (33, 37) detects a solid body existing in the detection region (A1, A2).
