Abstract:
A single cell module of this solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell has: an electrode-membrane-frame assembly; a pair of separators; and a plurality of gaskets that are arranged therebetween. The electrode-membrane-frame assembly comprises a polymer electrolyte membrane, an electrode part, a first frame, a second frame and a third frame. Parts of the first frame and the second frame, said parts being in contact with one of the gaskets, are configured flat without a joint or a step. The first frame is arranged on the peripheral portion of the polymer electrolyte membrane. The second frame is arranged on a surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane, said surface being on the reverse side of the surface on which the first frame is arranged, so that the polymer electrolyte membrane is sandwiched between the first frame and the second frame. The third frame seals the interface between the first frame and the second frame.
