Abstract:
Provided are a solid-state battery in which particles of an active material are in satisfactory contact with one another and which has improved discharge capacity, an electrode for solid-state batteries, and processes for producing the battery and the electrode. The solid-state battery includes a solid electrolyte layer and, disposed on both sides thereof, a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer, wherein either the positive electrode layer or the negative electrode layer contains lithium-containing compounds, the lithium-containing compounds comprising a lithium vanadium oxide in which the valence of the V is 3≤x≤5 and LiVO3, which is deliquescent. This process for producing the solid-state battery includes: a step in which a solid electrolyte comprising a lithium vanadium oxide in which the valence of the V is 3≤x≤5 and LiVO3, which is deliquescent, is made to deliquesce; a step in which the solid electrolyte that has deliquesced is mixed with an active material to prepare an electrode mix; a step in which the electrode mix is heat-treated and molded to produce an electrode; and a step in which the produced electrode is bonded, as one of paired positive and negative electrodes, to a solid electrolyte layer so that the solid electrolyte layer is interposed between the produced electrode and the other of the paired electrodes.
