Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a solid-state image capturing device and an electronic instrument which make it possible for operations in a sensing mode to be carried out using reduced power consumption.
This solid-state image capturing device includes an AD converting unit which subjects a pixel signal to AD conversion, and an oscillator which generates a second internal clock having a frequency lower than a first internal clock obtained by multiplying an external clock, wherein the AD converting unit is configured in such a way that when operating using the second internal clock, the AD converting unit operates using an AD conversion resolution that is lower than the resolution when operating using the first internal clock. This disclosure is applicable to CMOS image sensors, for example.
