Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a solid-state image capturing device and image capturing method, and an electronic instrument, which make it possible to shorten an exposure time. One pixel and another pixel are pixels having different exposure start timings and exposure end timings. Active light starts to be emitted and stops being emitted during the exposure time of said one pixel. For example, said one pixel starts exposure and ends exposure respectively before and after the active light is emitted. The other pixel starts exposure with a timing after a time Ta1 has elapsed since the start of emission of the active light (when a time Ta2 remains until the end of illumination), and ends exposure after the exposure of the one pixel has ended. This disclosure is applicable, for example, to image capturing devices which perform image capture using active light.
