Abstract:
Disclosed is a solid-state image pickup element, which is provided with: a plurality of photoelectric conversion units; a charge-voltage conversion unit, which is provided in common with respect to the photoelectric conversion units and convert transferred charges into voltages; a plurality of transfer switches, which are provided corresponding to the photoelectric conversion units, respectively, are sequentially turned on in different timings, and sequentially transfer the charges to the charge-voltage conversion unit from the photoelectric conversion units; an amplifying transistor which outputs signals that correspond to the potential of the charge-voltage conversion unit; a reset switch, which resets the potential of the charge-voltage conversion unit; and a control unit, which sequentially turns on the transfer switches in different timings, and sets a first on-period, wherein the reset switch is turned on prior to the first operation of turning on the transfer switch among the operations of turning on the transfer switches, to be 1.5 times or less the second on-period, wherein the reset switch is turned on prior to the rest of the on-operations.
