Abstract:
The present art relates to a solid-state image pickup element that makes it possible to suppress reflection of inputted light in a broad wavelength band. Disclosed is a solid-state image pickup element wherein a reflectance adjustment layer is provided on a substrate, which is formed of Si or the like in the input direction of input light, and which adjusts input light reflection on the substrate, said reflectance adjustment layer being configured from a first layer formed on the substrate, and a second layer formed on the first layer. The first layer is configured from an irregular structure that is provided on the substrate, and a material, which is applied to the recessed sections of the uneven structure, and which has a reflectance that is lower than that of the substrate, and the second layer is configured from a material having a reflectance that is lower than that of the first layer. The reflectance of the substrate formed of Si or the like can be reduced by applying the principle of interference of thin films. The present art can be applied to solid-state image pickup elements.
