Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a solid-state image sensor such that it is possible to make pixels smaller while maintaining freedom in designing a signal readout circuit. [Solution] In the solid-state image sensor, on a plurality of photoelectric conversion sections (17) arranged two-dimensionally on a substrate (1), a color filter layer (CF) having color filters (21) of multiple different colors is arranged so that the color filters (21) correspond to the photoelectric conversion sections (17) on a one-to-one basis. Among the color filters (21) of multiple colors and the photoelectric conversion sections (17), the color filters (21) of a predetermined color and the respective corresponding photoelectric conversion sections (17) have the largest areas, and signal readout circuit sections (11) provided for the photoelectric conversion sections (17) have areas smaller than the areas of the largest photoelectric conversion sections (17) and larger than the areas of the smallest photoelectric conversion sections (17).
