Abstract:
The present technology relates to a solid state imaging device, a solid state imaging device drive method, and an electronic apparatus that make it possible to expand the dynamic range of the solid state imaging device without causing image quality to deteriorate. The solid state imaging device is provided with a pixel array in which are arranged a plurality of unit pixels and with a drive unit that controls the operation of the unit pixels. The unit pixels include: a first photoelectric conversion unit; a second photoelectric conversion unit that has lower sensitivity than the first photoelectric conversion unit; a charge accumulation unit that accumulates charge generated by the second photoelectric conversion unit; a charge-voltage conversion unit; a first transfer gate unit that transfers charge from the first photoelectric conversion unit to the charge-voltage conversion unit; and a second transfer gate unit that combines the potential of the charge-voltage conversion unit and the charge accumulation unit. The present invention can be applied, for example, to a solid state imaging device.
