Abstract:
A solid state imaging device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with a light-receiving surface and a plurality of pixels arranged opposite to the light-receiving surface. The pixels each have: a photoelectric conversion section that performs photoelectric conversion on light incident via the light-receiving surface; an electric charge holding section that holds electric charges transmitted from the photoelectric conversion section; a first potential barrier provided between the photoelectric conversion section and the electric charge holding section; and a second potential barrier provided in the periphery of a region that includes the photoelectric conversion section, the electric charge holding section, and a first impurity semiconductor region. The first potential barrier is lower than the second potential barrier.
