Title:
SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE, METHOD FOR DRIVING SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE, AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/141727
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present feature relates to a solid-state imaging device and a method for driving the solid-state imaging device with which it is possible to expand the dynamic range of a solid-state imaging device without deteriorating picture equality, and an electronic apparatus. A solid-state imaging device is provided with a pixel array unit in which a plurality of unit pixels are positioned, and a drive unit for controlling the operation of the unit pixels. The unit pixels include: a first photoelectric conversion unit; a second photoelectric conversion unit having lower sensitivity than the first photoelectric conversion unit; a charge accumulation unit for accumulating charge generated by the second photoelectric conversion unit, a counter electrode of the charge accumulation unit being connected to a variable voltage power supply; a charge voltage conversion unit; a first transfer gate unit for transferring charge from the first photoelectric conversion unit to the charge voltage conversion unit; and a second transfer gate unit for linking the potentials of the charge voltage conversion unit and the charge accumulation unit. In at least some of a period in which the charge generated by the second photoelectric conversion unit is accumulated in the charge accumulation unit, the drive unit makes the voltage of the variable voltage power supply lower than when a signal based on the charge accumulated in the charge accumulation unit is read out. The present feature is applicable to a solid-state imaging device.
