Abstract:
A solid-state imaging device (1) comprising: a plurality of photoelectric converters (3) arranged side by side so as follow along a direction that intersects a predetermined direction, each photoelectric converter having a light-sensitive region (15) and a potential gradient formation region (17); a plurality of buffer gate parts (5) for accumulating the electric charge generated in the light-sensitive region (15) of a corresponding photoelectric converter (3), the buffer gate parts being arranged in correspondence with the photoelectric converters (3) and positioned at the opposite short side of the planar shape formed by the light-sensitive region (15); and a shift resister (9) for obtaining an electric charge sent from each of the plurality of buffer gate parts (5), and sending and outputting the electric charge in the direction that intersects the predetermined direction. Each of the buffer gate parts (5) has at least two gate electrodes positioned along the predetermined direction, a predetermined electric potential being applied to the buffer gates parts so that the potential increases toward the predetermined direction.
