Abstract:
Provided are a solid-state imaging element and imaging device that make it possible to further enhance imaging device compactness and light usage efficiency. This invention provides a solid-state imaging element in which a plurality of pixels are arranged in one or two dimensions, each of the pixels at least has a light reception unit, and the light reception units of at least some of the plurality of pixels have circular dichroism. Further, this invention provides an imaging device at least comprising the solid-state imaging element and a signal processing unit for, on the basis of a signal obtained from at least some of the pixels of the solid-state imaging element, generating an image capturing only specific circular polarization.
