Abstract:
The present invention improves the image quality of a solid-state imaging element that performs composition processing in which the dynamic range is increased. A driving unit exposes first pixels and second pixels for different exposure times when a prescribed exposure-ratio mode is set, while making the sensitivity of third pixels different from the sensitivity of fourth pixels by pixel addition when a prescribed pixel-addition-ratio mode is set. A mode setting unit sets either the pixel-addition-ratio mode or the exposure-ratio mode on the basis of a prescribed parameter related to a scene to be imaged.
