Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solid state imaging element whereby an electronic shutter can operate at faster speeds, a drive method therefor, and an electronic device. The solid state imaging element comprises: a pixel array unit having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix therein; a drive circuit that outputs drive signals that drive a pixel transistor that controls accumulation of signal charge in pixels, provided at each row in the pixel array unit; and a plurality of decoders that decode address information and output shutter control signals that control the electronic shutter, to the drive circuit in the pixel array unit row corresponding to the decoding result. The plurality of decoders output shutter control signals, using time division, to the drive circuits provided at each pixel array unit row. The present invention can be applied, for example, to a solid state imaging element.
