Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to a solid-state imaging element and electronic apparatus that are able to achieve favorable phase difference characteristics during imaging-plane phase difference autofocusing. The solid-state imaging element is provided with phase difference pixels having: a photoelectric conversion unit formed in a semiconductor substrate; a light-shielding film that is disposed within an insulating layer laminated upon the semiconductor substrate and that shields approximately half of the substrate on one side with the pupil position as the boundary; and a polarizing structure that polarizes light passing through an opening section that is the section not shielded by the light-shielding film. The present technology can, for example, be applied to a solid-state imaging element that implements imaging-plane phase difference autofocusing.
