Abstract:
This invention relates to a solid state imaging element and an electronic device allowing for a suppression of color mixing and decrease in sensitivity at each pixel of a solid state imaging element having a vertical spectral separation structure. The solid state imaging element according to a first aspect of the present invention contains a vertical spectral separation structure pixel in which a plurality of photoelectric conversion parts are layered. The vertical spectral separation structure pixel comprises: a first photoelectric conversion part generating an electric charge in response to a light of a first wavelength among an incoming light; a second photoelectric conversion part generating an electric charge in response to a light of a second wavelength among the incoming light that has passed through the first photoelectric conversion part; and a first spectral separation part formed on the upper surface of the first photoelectric conversion part, whereby the direction of progression for the light of the first wavelength from the incoming light is bent in the horizontal direction. The present invention can be applied, for instance, to an electronic device equipped with an image sensor.
