Abstract:
A solid-state imaging element (10) is provided with: a noise cancelation signal generating circuit (12) that is connected to a pixel power source (PW), and that performs gain switching and polarity inversion on a generated first noise cancelation signal (NC1), and outputs the resultant signal as a second noise cancelation signal (XNC1); a DA converter (13) that generates and outputs a reference signal (RAMP) and that converts the current of the second noise cancelation signal (XNC1) to a voltage, and superimposes the voltage on the reference signal (RAMP); a comparator (14) in which the reference signal (RAMP) and the pixel signal (VSL) are inputted to a comparator body (42) via an input capacity connected to a terminal of one of a differential pair, and which outputs an inverted signal according to gain setting and the pixel signal (VSL); a counter (18) that converts the inversion timing of the comparator (14) to a digital value; and a gain control unit (15) that, when gain control is performed on the comparator (14) by changing the input capacity and the inclination of the reference signal (RAMP), outputs a gain control signal based on the change amount of the input capacity.
