Abstract:
If the thickness of a sound absorber disposed within a vehicle and a gap within the vehicle do not match and there is a space between the sound absorber and a vehicle member, unusual noise resulting from contact between members and noise from outside the vehicle enter into the vehicle cabin and impair the quietness thereof. This problem is addressed by a sound absorber that is provided with a nonwoven fabric including 5-50 mass% of a second fiber having a lower melting point than the first fiber, and for which it is possible, even after production, to loosen the entangling of the first fiber and the second fiber and increase the volume of the nonwoven fabric by heating the nonwoven fabric to around the melting point of the second fiber and softening or melting the second fiber.
