Abstract:
A sound field correction system assumes that there are several speakers in an acoustical space including at least two speakers disposed in the lateral direction. A means for generating a signal for measurements makes the two speakers disposed in the lateral direction generate signals for measurements, and a means for collecting a signal for measurements collects the signals for measurements for the right and left directions at two or more points along the lateral axis in the acoustical space. A delay correction unit makes delay adjustments to either of the speakers until a difference between the levels in the right and left directions may be reduced to a predetermined value or below based on the signals for measurements for the right and left directions which have been collected by the means for collecting a signal for measurements. Since the sound field correction system collects the signals for measurements at two points along the lateral axis and reduces a difference between the levels in the right and left directions based on the content of the signals collected, the sound field correction system reduces a difference between the sound pressure levels on the right and left sides at a listening position, which occurs when time alignment is performed simply on a basis of the distance between the listening position and each speaker, and thus can provide a more comfortable acoustical space.
