Abstract:
Provided is a sound-generating device that can impart a desired effect in real time during sound generation. An effect of a type that corresponds to an instruction from a user and a setting value (parameter value) associated with said effect can be assigned to switches SW1, SW2. When a switch SW has been turned on, if a sound generation mode is a musical instrument sound generation mode and the sound of a musical instrument tone is being outputted, a CPU 10 imparts an effect to the outputted sound on the basis of a corresponding parameter on the condition that the effect of the type assigned to the switch SW is suitable for the outputted musical instrument sound, and if the sound generation mode is a vocal sound synthesizing mode and the sound of a vocal sound tone is being outputted, the CPU 10 imparts an effect to the outputted sound on the basis of a corresponding parameter on the condition that the effect of the assigned type is suitable for the outputted vocal sound.
