Abstract:
Disclosed is a sound generating device which, while enabling a quiet environment to be generally maintained, warns passers-by outside the vehicle, as necessary, of the presence of the vehicle, and where the aforementioned sound generating device, which warns of the vehicle's approach, can be mass-produced and the cost thereof reduced. The sound generating device (1) for warning of the approach of a vehicle is installed in the vehicle and serves to warn of the approach of the vehicle to persons outside the vehicle. A member (20) which constitutes part of the vehicle is adopted as a vibration plate. The sound generating device (1) is characterized in that the vibration plate (20) is vibrated by being driven by an electrically operated actuator (22) which is in turn driven by the control of a control unit (2).
