Abstract:

Provided is a sound output device which is worn in an ear of a listener for use, and which allows ambient sound to be heard when being worn. The sound output device 100 is provided with: a sound generation section 110 that generates sounds; a sound guide section 120 that captures the sounds generated by the sound generation section 110 at one end 121; and a holder section 130 that holds the sound guide section 120 near the other end 122. The holder section 130 is engaged with the intertragic notch, and supports the sound guide section 120 such that a sound output hole at the other end 122 of the sound guide section 120 is oriented towards the interior of the ear canal. Even when the listener wears the audio output device 100, the audio output device 100 does not block the ear hole of the listener and allows the listener to hear ambient sounds.
