Abstract:
The present invention provides a sound reproduction method wherein: space information for reproducing a virtual space is acquired (S11); the virtual space includes a sound source and a structure disposed in the virtual space; the listening position of a listener in the virtual space is identified (S12); and, when the structure is disposed between the sound source and the listening position in the virtual space, one or more virtual sound sources disposed in the vicinity of one or more virtual sound source directions, along which one or more edges of the structure are seen from the listening position, are generated (S13). The one or more virtual sound sources are each determined on the basis of the length of a propagation path through which sound from the sound source reaches the listener and which avoids the structure. In the determination, determined is at least one of (i) the sound pressure levels of sound which is heard by the listener from the one or more virtual sound source directions, (ii) the number of the one or more virtual sound sources, and (iii) the frequency characteristics of sound which is emitted from the one or more virtual sound sources.
