Abstract:

The invention relates to a sound-shielding element for preventing the propagation of sound from an area of a space in which the noise is produced to a neighboring space and/or for covering sound-reflecting or sound-generating structural parts. In order to simplify production and save space, the inventive sound-shielding element has at least one panel (1) or layer, containing a number of very small perforations (2). The panel is between 0.01 and 50 mm thick (d), the average diameter (d) or width (b) of the perforations (2) is between 0.001 and 2 mm and the hole-surface ratio (LV) is between 0.001 and 20 %.
