Abstract:

Provided are a space filling material and a space filling structure capable of filling a predetermined space for various purposes, and methods for using those. The space filling material (11) is constituted from reinforcement fibers serving as an expanding material, and a resin, the reinforcement fibers having a plurality of intersecting points, and at least some of the intersecting points being adhered by the resin. Due to expansion stress during heating inside a predetermined space (13), the space filling material is loaded at least in the thickness direction (X). The volume ratio of the resin may be 15% to 95% by volume relative to the total volume of the reinforcement fiber and the resin.
